GETTING HERE:
Disembark at EW14/NS26 Raffles Place MRT station, get across the Esplanade Bridge and into Raffles Avenue. Or get off at EW13/NS25 City Hall MRT station and walk along Stamford Road which will eventually merge into Raffles Avenue. On CityBuzz, all the bus routes will commence at The Esplanade bus stop ie: C1-#1, C2-#1 and C3-#1 and ends at The Oriental Singapore bus stop ie: C1-#16, C2-#16 and C3-#16, which both will bring you to Marina Centre.

DESCRIPTION:
Marina Centre is a collection of towering commercial and hotel buildings overlooking the beautiful Marina Bay. With the wide opening of Singapore River's mouth, the city skyline is seen to be split into two halves by the bay. With the commercial district near Raffles Place south of the bay has become increasingly dense, the collection of tall buildings has somewhat shifted northeast of the bay in the form Marina Centre business district.

Marina Centre also boasts a fine collection of 5-star hotels such as The Oriental Singapore (a chain of Mandarin Oriental group), The Pan Pacific Hotel, Marina Mandarin and to a certain extent, the super-duper luxurious Swissotel The Stamford.

Worry not, Marina Centre also offers great shopping. Right in the heart of it is Marina Square Shopping Mall, a rather popular shopping place for locals and tourists alike. A few minutes away from Marina Centre is Suntec City Mall which offer one of the biggest one-stop shopping experience in Singapore. The youngest of the malls are Esplanade Mall which is located just opposite the Oriental Singapore.

MY VERDICT:
A decent place to venture. Offers great shopping and scenic view across the bay.
