GETTING HERE:
Take the MRT to NS16 Ang Mo Kio station. Then, look for the SBS Transit bus #138 which will bring you right into this reservoir park.

DESCRIPTION:
Jaded with the city parks in downtown Singapore? While the likes of Marina City Park and Duxton Plain Park are sufficiently good, nothing beats a real tree-hugging excursion to one of Singapore's natural forest reserve.

Located in the heart of the island-state with rolling hills and expansive swamps, this reservoir has become a natural water catchments area for Singapore's inhabitants. With ample rain and excellent natural irrigation system, the reservoir is certainly lush in tropical trees.

Park benches are provided in great number here, making it a great spot for family outings and picnics. I am not too sure if BBQ is allowed though, and I did not see any type of water sport activities here. Nonetheless, bear in mind that the reservoir water is actually used for drinking and daily usage after treatment. Hence, I felt that it is within the rights of the park authority to safeguard the water quality.

MY VERDICT:
Peaceful and nice. The lush forest provided a cool shade from the sweltering heat.
